The Crane Axle Spring Eliminator Kit reduces the probability of damage. Bigger tires and heavier wheels can damage the Kingpin springs and other components, causing this issue. Replacing the springs with the heavy durometer bushings have been known to eliminate what is commonly known as Death Wobble (or Speed Wobble). Death wobble is typically caused by loose or damaged steering components. The solution is removing the springs and placing this kit there instead. This allows the avoidence of this problem. Typically, when upgrading the wheels and tires on a Dana 60 Axle, the stock kingpin springs will compress too much causing damage to the existing bushings and other kingpin parts.
